Websites to help you plan your wedding

January 8

Happy New Year readers ! Wohoo, a year has flown by. For me, it’s been one of the best year’s as far as career and personal life goes. How has this year been for all of you ?

After the big announcement, I’m gearing up for some wedding inspiration. My phone is swamped with photos of elegant jewellery, chic hairstyles, fashionable juttis, draping styles, bridal dresses and more. I am running out of storage already and that’s because I am following wedding inspiration accounts on instagram and other social media as well. Also, December had me attend five weddings, so I got inspiration and learnings from all the brides around. But I guess, despite all the pre-work, you do fall short of some wedding advice.

Websites to follow for wedding inspiration

I’ve curated some of the best websites that you must follow for wedding inspiration and why.

For wedding shopping and vendor search and negotiation : The Wedding Brigade

The Wedding Brigade (TWB) is amazing for wedding inspiration and for shopping wedding accessories like juttis and earrings. You can also book vendors via TWB. I was recently looking for a make up artist and I dropped them an email with my budget and city and within 24 hrs I received a list of make up artists all vetted by the TWB team. They even help you negotiate the budget with the vendors listed on their website. These services are only provided for Delhi and Mumbai at present. I wish they extend it to other cities soon.

For wedding vendors and for real wedding inspiration: WedmeGood

The kind of vendor list that wedmegood provides is phenomenal. They cover most cities and have reviews by real brides as well. It is definitely a good start point for searching vendors, especially makeup artists, mehendi artists, clothing and photographers. The photos tab on the website has a gallery of photos for inspiration and I must say, that’s kept me very busy. All in all, wedmegood is your personal wedding planner.

For wedding gift registry: Wedding Wishlist

For modern day couples who believe in being practical, Wedding Wishlist is where you should register gifts. Why let guests gift you stuff that you don’t need. Instead, take charge and curate your own wishlist and help guests buy you things that you need. Works bothways, for the couple and the guest. Do visit the getaways and personal gifts section on the website.

Real weddings and honeymoon travel inspiration : Wedding Sutra

Inspiring ideas for wedding planning is what Weding sutra is all about. They cover real weddings and have a photo gallery for inspiration just like the other websites. I love the celeb wedding section on this website. The website also has a travel section to help plan your honeymoon.

If you’ve had some first hand experience with these websites or some others, do write in. I would love to hear from you.

Pretty handy list. I used Wed me good for most of my wedding inspiration and also found my photographer through them. There’s Bridal Affair India if brides are looking to connect with experts in this space for some advice on grooming, makeup, skincare, fitness etc. They conduct workshops for brides to be.
PS: Congratulations and wish you all the best for the upcoming wedding!
