First impressions at Langkawi

November 18

I just could not get enough of Malaysia, so here I am ! At Langkawi ! First things first. I have been wondering why no one recommended me this place, because it is just soooo beautiful ! Something about the beaches at Langkawi just brings so much calmness. Clean blue water, white sand and the wind blowing over your face.  Just the perfect holiday every hardworking corporate person deserves. If this weren’t enough, Langkawi is pretty reasonable on the pocket too.

I took a connecting flight with a friend of mine from Kuala Lumpur and landed at Langkawi airport. We were flying over sea and suddenly landed. For a moment, I thought we had landed on water  (huh!). That’s how close the airport is to the sea.

The drive from the airport to the accommodation was very pleasant. It was quite windy, despite the heat. My first impressions were that the people were very warm and friendly. Absolutely no hustle bustle around, very peaceful and serene place.

We had booked our rooms via Airbnb and stayed at Skull Beach Cafe and resort. It’s a secluded place, a little far away from the city with no TV, AC or any other luxury. But this was exactly what we were looking for – some adventure and lots of fun. We were looking for something which was close to the beach and this was the best option, with the accommodation being just 10 metres away from the beach. Look at the view from my cottage.

We decided to take it easy and just chill and relax in the water and that’exactly s what we did, jumped right into the sea! 3 hours in the water and a short nap later, we were hungry. The owner Sam was very kind enough to help us with the menu selection as well as our itneary for the next 2 days. Fiddy, who was the cook there, served us local Malaysian food for dinner and I absolutely loved it!

We slept early at around 10 pm because we had lots in store for us for Day 2 of the  Langkawi trip. Read on !

Also, check out great pics of the lovely Langkawi local food.
