Some people are just passionate about decorating their home. However, buying home decor can be an expensive affair. But what if you could give your bedroom a new look every 6 months by revamping the decor and without spending much? In fact, all you need to do is look in your homes, find waste and make good use of it. Here are 15 decorating tricks for designing your bedroom that are super cheap. People who love DIY’s are going to be happy reading this. Go ahead and make your slumber zone dreamy!

1.) Empty bottles

Got a lot of empty bottles at home? I’m sure all of us do. Empty beer bottles work best. Add some sand or pebbles inside with real or artificial flowers in different colours and see the magic on your walls.

2.) Old T-shirts or greeting cards

Old t-shirts, greeting cards or postcards are always lying around every home. Before you think of throwing them away, consider this. Cut out images from t-shirts and cards and frame them on your wall.

3.) Horseshoes

If you are a collector of horseshoes and have multiple lying around, use it to form a pattern that will fill up your wall.

4.) Paper cuttings

Use the skills you learnt as a child in school. With only paper and scissors, you can make butterflies, flowers, hearts, just about anything and then use your creativity to make a pretty design.

5.) Coasters

If you have extra coasters lying around or some old ones, join them together using a stick tape to make a rug or a wall decor.

6.) Pouches

You will find lots of unused pouches in the kitchen. Hang them on key stands on the wall. They make for amazing wall decor and at the same time can be used to store things.

7.) Baskets

Baskets are generally used for fruits and vegetables. But you can also use baskets to keep books, letters or magazines on a side table.

8.) Bring outdoor furnishing inside

Looking for a change? Bring furniture kept outside the house to the inside. This may include plants kept outside or a wicker chair. Once you are bored with the look you can keep it back outside.

9.) Magazines and Newspapers

This is my personal favorite. We all have these lying around in bundles. While giving them for recycling is the best option, you can also use these to decorate your home. There are multiple ways you can use them. Stack up magazines and use it as a surface to keep a flower vase or just put them up on hangers on a wall.

10.) Maps

Old maps can make for good wall decor and you can also show off all the cities and countries you have visited.

11.) Empty frames

Frames with nothing in them can also look cool. Design them in different ways, make a pattern and see them light up your walls.

12.) Plates

Ever thought plates could be used as home decor? Think again. You can use plates with designs or paint on a white plate yourself.

13.) Handprints

Use your own hand impressions to personalize a wall. This is a messy but fun idea. Call your friends over too and tell them to leave their impressions on the wall.

14.) Stationery

Use existing stationery to make a pretty wall decor. You can also use pen stands and hang them on the wall.

15.) Mix it up

Use a combination of things. Use tit bits and leftovers to randomly place them all over the wall.

Hey, Kala. Thanks. I just visited the PS cafe in Singapore last week and saw the same magazine concept there too.
